BIOGRAPHY

Patrick Perry received a Diploma in Fine Craft in the Jewelry/Metal Arts Studio at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD) in 1997. He majored in Sculpture/Installation at the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD). He received his Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) in 1999 and his Bachelor of Education (BEd) from the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in 2000.  In 2006 he graduated from the Maine College of Art (MECA) with a Master in Fine Arts.

He has worked as an Exhibition Designer, Exhibition Coordinator, and Art College Instructor. Currently he teaches Visual Arts at an International Baccalaureate School in the Bronx, New York.  He served on the Board of the New Brunswick Craft Council and was Vice-President of Gallery Connexion, a Canadian artist-run centre. He has participated in a number of group and solo exhibitions in New Brunswick, Ontario, Maine, Massachusetts and New York. He has been the recipient of a number of prestigious prizes and awards throughout the past decade including a Creation Grant and several Visual Arts Awards from the New Brunswick Arts Board; Emerging Artist Awards and the Nel Oudemans Scholarship from the Sheila Hugh MacKay Foundation; and the MECA Merit Award and the Harry and Olive Cummings Scholarship from the MECA.
